CA Spotlight #7
Guess Who!?!?!

My birthday is March 8, 1993
I grew up in Draper, UT
My major is Art and Visual Communications.
I grew up on a farm, so I used to have many pets. However, one day we sold the farm. I expect they’re off adventuring and living their lives to the fullest these days.
I love fruits and vegetables… But I can’t live without chocolate.
I have three brothers and four sisters.
I like to run, hike, bike, climb and spelunking.
I haven’t really lived in another country. I went to Spain for a month, and I’m determined to spend at least a year of my life in Europe.
I’ve met lots of future famous people.
My free time is usually spent outdoors. Or indoors.
My most important hobby is memorizing every minute of the Lord of the Rings movies.
My motto in life is, “Leave the world more interesting for your being here.”
Once I took a Latin class... But my second language is English.
A person of great influence in my life is my mom.
In five years from now, I will be graduated from college (hopefully), living in Europe (hopefully), and making enough money to eat (hopefully).
The cartoon character that best describes me is Aladdin. Because I’ll probably be homeless someday.
If I could live anywhere in the world for a year, I would choose Florence, Italy.
If I had a super power, I would be a witch (like Hermione, not the Wicked one)
I chose my major because I would rather make good art than make good money.
If I could meet anyone, it would probably be Buddha.
Something unique about me is that I can flip my eyelids!
If my life had a theme song, maybe it would be Beethoven’s 5. Something classical, I would get sick of anything with lyrics.
I became a CA because I wanted to be able to eat as many Jolly Ranchers from the office as I wanted.
I’m looking forward to the Masquerade Ball this Friday!
It’s going to be FRANCEtastic. Heh.
I want my residents to know that they always have a friend at WC!
This year has been/will be the best at WC. I’m going to do my best to help people have a great time!

My birthday is January 8, 1993
I am from L-Town (Layton) UT
My major is Mathematics Education
I used to have a pet, Betta Bobby! but Betta passed last month :( He's in a better place now
When it comes to food I love anything exotic..stuff like sandwiches, veggies, cookies & pizza.
I am sure I have brothers and sisters somewhere out there. Still looking for the other half of my locket
I like to play cricket
Have I ever lived in another country? Just Bolivia, Russia, Guam, Moldova, Australia, China, Kenya, London and Hawaii.
Have I met a famous person? Oh just the one and only, our very own Jordan Hanks from Bountiful, Utah. He's been working in the Wolverine Crossing office for 3 years now, so when I got the job I was thrilled that I get to work with him! You all know who i'm talkin' about..tall. dark. handsome. And I mean he's not one of those "too good for everyone" celebrities. Free autographs all day every day. And yes, he's as unreal in person as you'd imagine. Hands down my hero.
I mostly invest my time in things that are actually a positive influence on society. So i'm obsessed with keeping up with the Kardashians and the Bachelorette. Since it didn't work with Emily and Jeff, I'm his girl!
Most people would say they like to take their dogs on a walk, but for me my hobbies are like my grandma. I collect stamps, the state quarters and beanie babies.
My motto in life is :Better out than it
From living in pretty much every corner of the world.. I'm fluent in English
Who has had the most influence in my life? Just a few of the many are Topanga (boy meets world), N'Sync, Mr. Rogers, and the Spice girls!
In five years from now?: I'll still be a CA at Wolverine Crossing, but I'll have a baby. I'm never leaving this place.
The cartoon character that best describes me is Kimberly, the pink power ranger
If I could live anywhere in the world: I don't know, probably downtown Salt Lake, I hear it's pretty cool down there.
Super-power?: Spidey Senses...I want that webby sticky stuff to shoot out of my arms.
I chose my major because: I've known I've wanted to major in Mathematics for 5 years. I had a dream one night about Albert Einstein and ..umm.. I just work up knowing.
If I could meet ANYONE it would be Willie the Wolverine from UVU.
Something unique about me is that I've been to all 38 states in the US!
My life 'theme' song is: Confession by Usher, Eye of the tiger, and anything by Bieber.
What did I become a CA? Like I said before...Jordan Hanks.
What am I looking forward to this year? Serving my Community!
Some of my plans for Residents this year....I'll never tell!
What impression I want to leave on my residents: I want them to be speechless!
How am I going to make this year the best at WC? My actions speak for themselves.
YAY MELISSA HADFIELD!!
We love you Melissa! We are so happy that you are on our team! You make us smile and we enjoy your contagious personality! Congrats on your Mission call to Australia! You're a rock star!

Cheap Valentines Dates that will Win Them Over

"4 Cheap Valentine's Dates That Will Win Them Over
Two Movie Tickets: $24
One Large Tub of Popcorn: $8
Two Medium Sodas: $10
A date night at the movie theater: Ridiculous!

With Valentine's Day around the corner, you will want to do something special for your significant other. But if even a movie night is over $40, we may feel lost trying to impress our date during the "most romantic day of the year." I'm assuming you don't want to cash your 401(k) to take out your significant other or the coworker you've been crushing on. I don't blame you. Dating can be hard enough without adding in finances. Fortunately, creating a memorable experience is much more important than the dollars spent. You might have to put in a little more time to plan, but a creative date is worth it for your budding relationship and your wallet.

Pack a Picnic
Supplies: blanket, cheese, fruit, crackers, chocolate
Prep Time: one to two hours for buying and set-up time
Cost: up to $50

Who doesn't love a picnic, even if it is 10 degrees outside? Although it sounds like a lot of work, you can spread a blanket on the floor and grab some basics. Your date will be impressed because it looks like you put a lot of time and effort into it, when it actually only takes a few minutes at the store.

Up in the Air
Supplies: V-Day colored balloons (red, pink, white, gold), paper, balloon pump, pin for popping, helium and ribbon (optional)
Prep Time: two to three hours to create quotes, poems, etc. and blow up balloons.
Cost: up to $25, depending on supplies you choose

Have something you want to say but want to share it in a creative way? On colorful paper, write or print out romantic quotes, poem or activities, such as a hug, different kinds of kisses, massage. You can even include coupons for later to make a meal on a tough day or a free night out with the guys/girls. Roll them up and put them in the deflated balloons. Blow them up and fill her room with them. She will be excited to come home to a room of balloons where she will get to pop each balloon to find a new way that you care.

A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words
Supplies: two disposable cameras
Prep Time: enough to buy the cameras and find a good area
Cost: up to $30 for cameras, film processing and dessert

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways... on film. Buy two disposable cameras and give each other an allotted amount time to go around and find things that remind you of each other and why you love them. Afterward, get the pictures developed at a local place than can process them in less than an hour. After that, you can look through your pictures over a nice dessert.

Treasure Hunt
Supplies: clues, a treasure at the end
Prep Time: make time to create clues, pick locations and hide them.
Cost: final treasure

This is my favorite and for the true adventurers. It's a bit of work, but worth it in the end. Create a treasure hunt for your date full of puzzles to solve or activities (slow dance in the street, sing karaoke, etc.) and clues to the next destination. It could be in a public building (such as the mall) or over an area (a fun, energetic part of town). You can even get other people involved and have a great time with it. The "treasure" can be a final destination where you have a huge ice cream sundae to share, or another fun activity. Either way, the real treasure will be the memories made from such a fun creative date."
